These eight evening workshops will allow participants to develop the  skills necessary to write arts interviews, reviews, criticism and broader,  long-form cultural analysis pieces that would be suitable for newspapers and  other publications – print and online. The classes will focus on how to structure  an article, select suitable subject matter and keep audiences engaged.  Different forms of arts writing will be explored with students getting a chance  to try their hand at each one and receive detailed feedback. The course will  also give participants a practical grounding in how to pitch ideas to editors  and a list of suitable contacts. The workshops are aimed at those who enjoy  analysing culture as a hobby, as well as those looking to do it professionally.  Suitable for practiced writers and novices.
