	Beginners Creative Writing with Jean O'Brien BOOKED OUT Monday 6 October; 6.30pm–8.30pm Duration: 8 weeks; Cost: €220/€200 members This course is aimed at those who want to write but don't know how to start. It should also be useful for people who have done some writing already but who feel the need for the discipline of a class. Over the eight weeks, each class will be broken down in to two parts—a taught element elucidating on various aspects of writing and looking at successful examples from well known writers. The second part will give participants a chance to workshop new material and get feedback on their work from Jean and fellow writers on the course. By the end of the course, participants will have completed a poem or short story, or have begun a novel. They should also have greater understanding and confidence in going forward with their work. NOTE: The course will break for bank holiday Monday 27 October. The last class is on 1 December.

Winner of the prestigious Arvon Poetry Prize in 2011, she also holds an MA in Creative Writing from Trinity College, Dublin and has tutored many workshops for different organisations.
