Kick start your prose writing with this five-week toolkit designed for the beginner, but equally useful for the improver. Each two-hour session will focus on a different, and essential, writing challenge: Openings; Character; Plot, Dialogue; and Language/Style. Time will be divided between a discussion of outstanding examples from the novel, shorter fiction, theatre and even film, and then looking closely at each writer’s work-in-progress, the class will consider the strategic tool-box that makes for writing success. Be prepared to have your work-in-progress discussed in a lively but supportive fashion, and thus to develop the skills to become your own most important critic.
A former lecturer of literature, David Butler is an award winning full-time author. His most recent books are City of Dis (2014), No Greater Love (2013) and The Judas Kiss (2012). |
