Open Day @ The Irish Writers Centre

Our free events are open to all, however, we'd recommend the workshops for those who've never taken a course before. It will give you an idea of what happens in the classroom.

  • ·         Free prose and poetry creative writing classes. 
  • ·         10-minute one-to-one clinics

  • ·         Have a chat with novel fair winner
  • ·         Free teas, coffees, cakes and biscuits
  • ·         Join in with the Inkslingers, the IWC’s open creative writing group which meets every Saturday

Free class for beginners, ideal for people who want to get a taste for what happens in a creative writing workshop.

Novel Fair info from Grey Phelan – talk to a Novel Fair winner to get an insight into the process, the benefits and the outcomes.

Nessa O’Mahony will offer constructive criticism on the first 500 words from the opening of a short story, novel, or a piece of non-fiction. Six slots available. Finishes at 2.30. For advance booking only, emai linfo@writerscentre.ie.

Inkslingers Open Writing Group

The Inkslingers welcome all comers who are interested in what happens at a writing group. There are currently 13 writing groups operating out of the Centre. Our creative writing courses frequently form into writing groups at the end of term.
