On Wednesday June 2nd at 7pm, Fiachra Sheridan and Eugene McCabe will be reading at the Irish Writers' Centre This event is free and open to everyone. There will be a wine reception before and after the readings.
Fiachra Sheridan
Fiachra Sheridan was born in Dublin in 1974. He grew up in Dublin's north inner city, where he works as a teacher of Mathematics and Business Studies. As a student, he went to the USA on a football scholarship at Radford University, Virginia, and played League of Ireland Division 1 football for Home Farm and Kilkenny City on his return to Ireland. The Runners, published this summer by New Island, is his first novel.

Eugene McCabe
Eugene McCabe was born in Glasgow in 1930. His novel Death and Nightingales, published in 1992, was described by Michael Ondaatje as 'a deeply moving, powerful, and unforgettable book'; John Banville said that it 'should put Eugene McCabe in the first rank of contemporary Irish novelists', and Colm Toibin called it 'clearly one of the great Irish masterpieces of the century'. Eugene McCabe lives in Co. Monaghan.
